The Eastern District of North Carolina is making technical amendments to its Local Rules as a result of its Local Rules Consistency Project. The focus of the Local Rules Consistency Project was to enhance the internal consistency of the Local Rules in all areas, including terminology, format, and substance.

Additionally, the Local Rules now also reflect the time computation amendments to the federal rules which are effective December 1, 2009. The time computation changes to the Local Rules are required to allow the district’s rules to follow the federal rule changes. All Local Rule changes will be effective December 1, 2009.
