ALERTS: It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of United States Bankruptcy Judge Randy D. Doub, who departed this life Saturday, January 24, 2015. Judge Doub provided outstanding and dedicated service as a United States Bankruptcy Judge in the Eastern District of North Carolina from July 2006 until January 2015. He served as Chief United States Bankruptcy Judge from July 2007 until July 2014. During his tenure as Chief Judge, he was instrumental in overseeing the move of one of the Bankruptcy Court's divisional offices to Greenville and overseeing the construction of a new courthouse in Greenville. Judge Doub will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family.

FIFTH AMENDMENT

Art. V. No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
